Maybe This is Why Your Prospects are Not Buying

Today I had a fantastic session with a client of mine who lives about 1,500 miles away (obviously, we were on the phone).   I’m pretty excited about what we are doing, because her potential is tremendous.

She actually had 30 other businesses who were trying to get her to engage their services.

When I asked her why she chose me, versus so many others (by the way, you should ALWAYS ask your clients why they chose you); what she told me was PERFECT for you to learn.

– Everyone else talked on and on about how they would make THEIR product fit her needs.  And their proposals were just standard templates.

– I asked her questions about herself, her goals, and her product.   In fact, her comment was “You asked me great questions that no one else did.”  Then, I crafted a proposal based on what we talked about.

How many of you are at networking events, or in front of prospects, just going on and on about how you are just the right person or business?  You do this, you can do that, and you do some more things…

Your prospects can see right through you if you are more interested in SELLING them than making sure they get the right solution (which is why I ask so many questions).

So, if your prospects are not buying, maybe you are doing too much SELLING and not enough ASKING.
